Munich (AP) - The outgoing Munich club patron Uli Hoeneß has named the longtime Adidas boss Herbert Hainer as an ideal cast at Bayern for his successor.
"One who can lead Adidas can also lead Bayern," said Hoeneß at a press conference. Hainer (65) is "a man of sport", he has much idea of the economy.
Hoeness will retire after four decades from the leadership of FC Bayern Munich. The 67-year-old does not want to run for president again on 15 November as the German championship champion. He would like to make his chair on the Supervisory Board available at the first meeting after the Annual General Meeting. That had been self-evident for him, because you can not a new president to the "Lame Duck" in which he is not given the post of influential chairman of the Supervisory Board, said Hoeneß.
Hoeneß will continue to serve as a member of the Supervisory Board for the duration of his appointment until November 2023. Both top offices of Hoeness to take over the longtime Adidas boss Hainer.
