Madrid (AP) - The Spanish government has the rescue ship "Open Arms" in the struggle for a solution for the 107 migrants on board, apparently offered Mallorca as a safe haven. The Spanish NGO Proactiva Open Arms had made an offer to head to the Andalusian port of Algeciras on the grounds that the situation on board was too precarious to spend another five days at sea. The Balearic Islands are slightly closer to the current position of the ship. Mallorca and Menorca are the closest Spanish points of contact.
