An explosion in a wedding room in the Afghan capital Kabul killed twenty people injured and possibly dozens of people on Saturday.
A spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior wrote on Twitter that the explosion took place late in the evening in a wedding room in the southwest of the city.
It was not yet clear what caused the explosion near the groom. Detailed information about the number of victims will follow later, the spokesman said.
A well-introduced journalist said that at least 20 people died and more than 30 were injured. He relied on information from a senior government official. No one has yet claimed the attack.
At Kabul weddings, men and women celebrate in separate rooms. Hundreds of guests are usually invited.
The attack on the wedding hall was the seventeenth major attack in the capital Kabul since January. Among the previous sixteen, according to the authorities, at least 113 people were killed and more than 700 were injured.
