In the American city of Philadelphia, at least six officers were shot by one or more shooters. They were taken to the hospital with one or more gunshot wounds, but as far as is known, they are not in danger to life. The shooter or gunmen have still not been overpowered almost six hours after the start of the shooting.

According to agents, there is always one man with a large gun. He is hiding in a building. The shooting is said to have started at 4.30 pm (local time) after a chase. It has now been 10 pm in that region of the US.

A part of the shooting incident would have been shown on Facebook via a live stream, according to the local police. The man had two officers for hours as hostages in the same building, but they were freed by an arrest team.

One man was arrested. His role in the shooting incident is being investigated. One shooter uses a "large gun that can accurately hit its target from a long distance," said a police spokesperson.

Large police force on the leg

An increasingly large group of agents is present in the Tioga-Nicetown district. They are supported by armored cars and heavily armed arrest teams. Multiple agents are treated on site with minor injuries.

Local authorities ask residents to avoid the area and stay inside. It is not yet clear whether civilians have been injured.

What a sad day in America. 5+ officers shot, other officers pinned behind and under cars, taking fire from someone who simply out-gunned them with a long gun.
