New York (AP) - In the face of rising tensions in Kashmir, the UN Security Council is to deal with the situation in the controversial Himalayan region. China has requested a meeting on the situation in the area claiming both Pakistan and India. This confirmed several diplomats of the German Press Agency. It is still unclear when and in what format the topic should be treated. According to the Pakistani side, since 1965 there has been no major meeting of the Security Council on Kashmir.
