The man's driver's license was confiscated after he was caught driving alcohol on several occasions. There was no alcohol in the game on Tuesday evening.

The incident took place around 21:30 on Claes de Vrieselaan. Several ambulances and a trauma helicopter came to the scene to provide assistance.

The 39-year-old victim from Rotterdam was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

Police are looking at camera images in search of suspect

With the help of witness statements and camera images, the police established that the driver involved had driven in the direction of Witte van Haemstedestraat after the collision.

The damaged vehicle was found around 3.30 in the Overschie district. The suspect was then arrested.
