The cyclist who was hit by a car in Rotterdam on Tuesday evening died of his injuries. The driver of the vehicle had driven on after the collision, but has since been arrested.
The incident took place around 21:30 on Claes de Vrieselaan, after which several ambulances and a trauma helicopter were summoned. The 39-year-old victim from Rotterdam was taken to the hospital in a serious condition, where he later died.
After the collision, the motorist involved drove on to Witte van Heemstedestraat. The damaged vehicle was found around 3.30 in the Overschie district. The police then arrested a 38-year-old man.
