Cottbus (AP) - After the endless discussions about new staff, FC Bayern has managed the gallant outsider Energie Cottbus only an unadorned victory. Last-day goalkeeper Robert Lewandowski (32nd minute), Kingsley Coman (64) and Leon Goretzka (85.) on Monday night in Lusatia provided for the 3-1 (1-0) of the record Cup winner for the start of the mission anniversary title.

The Munich have already won the national cup 19 times - at the end of the season should be the 20th cup victory. In front of 20,602 spectators in the sold-out stadium of the friendship, the favorite was unexpectedly difficult. The hosts came in injury time by Berkan Taz by penalty kick to the honorary goal (90 + 3).

Cottbus coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz had described the duel of the Lausitzer downed in the fourth league with the big Bavarians "Unequal as unequal". His team held surprisingly long Munich pressure. Perhaps also because the big favorite four days before the Bundesliga opener against Hertha BSC still acted a bit in the Schonmodus.

This was demonstrated by the illustrious cast of the bank, where at the start of the game 80-million-euro new signing Lucas Hernández, national team player Goretzka and 2014 World Champion Jérôme Boateng took their seats. For the French newcomer Benjamin Pavard had received in central defense preference. Maybe a hint for Boateng, that he has to be content with the reservist role more often than expected.

The Munich Elf on the turf could convince coach Niko Kovac but not completely. Regardless of the high possession rate Bayern were not compelling enough and allowed themselves the one or the other misconduct in the game. Thomas Müller rarely found attachment to his peers. Mostly it was still dangerous on the left side, when Coman gained space with tempo dribbling.

So also the first big opportunity came when Coman put on Lewandowski. But the only 19-year-old energy goalkeeper Lennart Moser steered the shot of Poland still on the crossbar (14). The goalkeeper delivered an outstanding game and saved well before the Munich goal in a header from Coman great. But he was beaten by Lewandowski in the second round. For the Bundesliga top scorer it was already the 34th goal in the DFB Cup. Coman also failed with a header to the crossbar (41).

At the end of the first round, the Lusatians, who were in the highest German league from 2000 to 2003 and then again from 2006 to 2009, were able to free themselves for a short time from the great pressure from Bavaria. But Felix Brügmann fired from good position over the Bayern goal (41.). Two, three more counterattacks were played too imprecisely.

Also in the second round, the Munich earned far too rarely clear chances - and that against a team that was on average just 21.3 years old, you take out veteran Dimitar Rangelow (36). "German master, nobody knows why", it rang even from the ranks. The vague, but never realistic hopes of a big coup of the blatant outsider but eventually made Coman vain when he sat from half-left position the ball in the far corner. Then also met Goretzka. Shortly before closing Hernandez also came to his debut.

So there is still a little work on the Bundesliga series champion. Maybe one or the other new commitment will help. The Croatian Vice World Champion Ivan Perisic was on Monday for medical check in Munich. Kovac was confident that "everything will work out". Perisic is reportedly loaned from Inter Milan for a year, where he still has a contract until 2022. After that, Bayern should have the opportunity to firmly commit the offensive veteran. In addition, there was a rumor from Spain that Bayern are negotiating with FC Barcelona for a loan from Brazilian international Philippe Coutinho.
