A shooting near the Kraaiennest metro station in Amsterdam's Bijlmer has cost the life of a man in the night to Sunday. According to Het Parool , it concerns Inchomar Balentien, an Amsterdam criminal who barely survived an earlier attack on his life in 2013.
Agents received reports of the shooting around midnight. What exactly happened is still being investigated. The identity of the victim has not yet been officially released.
Het Parool writes that Balentien approached the newspaper earlier in 2015 because he suspected that rivals wanted to carry out a new attack on him, at his house in the Bos en Lommer neighborhood of Amsterdam. Balentien would never have wanted to tell the Public Prosecution Service who had wanted him murdered in 2013.
Due to the incident, the last few journeys from metro line 53 to Gaasperplas could no longer stop at the Kraaiennest stop, the Amsterdam transport service GVB writes on Twitter.
