Brussels (dpa) - EU competition watchdogs investigate the suspicion of illegal business practices in Amazon's dealings with merchants on its platform. An official investigation has been initiated against the US online mail order company, the EU Commission said. On the one hand, Amazon itself sells products as a retailer on its website. Secondly, it provides an online marketplace through which other traders could sell their goods directly to customers. Amazon constantly collects data about the products of other providers and customer behavior.
