Strasbourg (AFP) Liberals in the European Parliament want to vote for Ursula von der Leyen as new Commission President. Faction leader Dacian Ciolos said on Tuesday afternoon on Twitter, the liberal faction Renew Europe will support the CDU politician. Earlier, the five German FDP delegates had already declared that they wanted to vote for von der Leyen. It was "to prevent a hanging game at the head of the European Commission" and to keep the EU "able to act in stormy times of imminent Brexit".
