Perpignan (dpa) - Due to a forest fire in southern France about 2500 tourists from three campsites have been brought to safety. The people were housed in the seaside resort of Argelès-sur-Mer south of Perpignan, including in gymnasiums, said the responsible prefecture. Injured people did not exist. The fire broke out from previously unexplained causes, the news agency AFP reported. The flames had also spread because of the strong wind in the region. The Mediterranean resort is particularly popular with campers during the summer months.
