New York (dpa) - For the first time since Germany's entry into the UN Security Council, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas is visiting the United Nations in New York today. He will first attend an event on the role of women in peacekeeping in the Middle East. Tomorrow will mark his premiere as a member of the most important UN body: the SPD politician attends a meeting on climate protection. Germany has been one of the ten rotating members of the Security Council since 1 January.
