Government: US experience the longest government deadlock in its history
TIME ONLINE | News, backgrounds and debates
Washington (dpa) - The partial stagnation of government under US President Donald Trump has grown to become the longest in the history of the United States. At midnight, the previous record of the 21-day "shutdown" of 1995/1996 was broken. The reason for the budget freeze is the dispute between Trump and the Democrats over the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico. Since it was not time for the adoption of a budget law, several ministries can not work normally.
