It is increasingly being suggested that the next James Bond should be a woman, but current James Bond Daniel Craig has now spoken out.

The actor says in conversation with

Radio Times

that he thinks there should simply be better roles for women.

"Why would a woman play James Bond when there should just be a role that is just as good, but for a woman?" said the 53-year-old actor.

According to Craig, it is important to work towards a better distribution in Hollywood.

"There just needs to be better roles for women and actors of color."

A female 00 agent can be seen for the first time in the new film: actress Lashana Lynch takes on that role.

The actor is soon to be seen in what is to be his last James Bond film,

No Time To Die

It is not known who will then take over from him.

In recent months, names like Henry Cavill (

) and Regé-Jean Page (

) have been mentioned a lot.
