Van Dik Hout is the winner of the Buma Golden Harp 2021. The formation of singer Martin Buitenhuis will receive the prize on September 20 during the presentation of the Buma Awards in Het Bimhuis in Amsterdam.

The Golden Harp is awarded to Van Dik Hout for his great and important contribution to the music industry over the past 27 years.

"Their combination of poetic lyrics with rock music still appeals to an unprecedentedly wide audience of several generations," says Bernard Kobes of Buma/Stemra.

The jury praises the major role that Van Dik Hout has played in the development of Dutch rock music.

"And if you are included in the Dikke Van Dale as a band with your text, then you have delivered an exceptional performance," says Kobes.

According to editor-in-chief Ton den Boon of the Dikke Van Dale, the expression 'Silent in me' from the group's hit of the same name perfectly expresses the feeling of emptiness that people can experience when something serious has happened.

The song was released in 1994 and has been featured in many obituaries, social media and media posts ever since.

Silent in me

is now good for 25 million streams on Spotify.

The song was previously voted the best Dutch single of all time by the listeners of 3FM.
