Akwasi will not be prosecuted by the Public Prosecution Service (OM) for tweets in which he allegedly incited violence against Sinterklaas or Zwarte Piet, or interpreters of the folkloric figures.

The relevant tweets were sent between 2009 and 2012. According to the Public Prosecution Service, two of the messages that have been reported are punishable by sedition (Article 131 DCC).

It's about the statements: "RT @StatikMusic: Can someone shoot Sinterklaas from that boat this year, I'm putting euro500 on his head.// Brraapp !!!"

of October 30, 2009 and "Is anyone ever going to shoot a Zwarte Piet again or should I? #damn" of November 12, 2011.

Yet the Public Prosecution Service does not want to prosecute Akwasi for this.

Firstly because the tweets were sent a long time ago and secondly because the rapper has recently distanced himself from them.

He then did so in a statement in which he also publicly distanced himself from statements he had made on Dam Square on June 1, 2020, during a Black Lives Matter protest.
