Britain's Queen Elizabeth is delighted to welcome Lilibet 'Lili' Diana, the newborn daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Sunday.

Lili was born on Friday.

She is the first daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The couple already have a two-year-old son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

The girl is Queen Elizabeth's eleventh great-grandchild.

Harry and Meghan named their daughter after the Queen.

Elizabeth is called "Lilibeth" by her family.

The name Diana refers to the British Princess Diana, Harry's mother, who died in 1997.

Lili is eighth in the line of succession to the throne.

Prince Charles is still the first to be considered to succeed Queen Elizabeth.

His eldest son Prince William is second in line to the throne.

Archie stands a spot in front of Lili.

Queen Elizabeth is unlikely to have new great-grandchildren from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The British prince has previously said he wants a maximum of two children.
