Volkskrant Magazine

won a Mercur on Thursday for the last interview of Marc de Hond.

Two weeks before his death, the theater maker, wheelchair athlete and former internet entrepreneur was interviewed by journalist Antoinnette Scheulderman.

In the posthumously published

interview, De Hond spoke about his memory and the message he wanted to pass on to his children and others.

He died on June 3 from cancer.

was elected editor of the year.

The Mercurs are the most important professional awards in the magazine and media industry.

The award ceremony took place for the 23rd time this year and could be followed via a live stream from Central Studios in Utrecht.

This time eight prizes were to be awarded.
