RTL is saddened by the death of Ursul de Geer.

The media company praises the presenter for his striking appearance.

In it he followed Dutch people who were on holiday in Southern European seaside resorts.

"His eloquence in combination with his direct interview approach and unbridled curiosity resulted in original and often hilarious interviews with Dutch holidaymakers abroad."

RTL wishes its relatives and loved ones strength with the loss, a spokesperson said.

De Geer was a "maker in heart and soul" for RTL.

The stage director, actor and television maker died on Monday at the age of 74.

Several Dutch celebrities also react sadly to the news.

Cornald Maas praises De Geer, who was also active as an actor in the theater world for a long time, for his extensive knowledge of the theater.

"Until the end, a man with a great passion for theater", he writes on Twitter.

Jan de Hoop, presenter at Omroep MAX, was also touched by the obituary.

"That is a shock," he tweeted.

Singer Marga Bult also expresses her condolences.

On Twitter she writes: "RIP dear Ursul."
