They also indicate that we can "write off" the festival summer of 2021.

The managements of the three Amsterdam event locations see that money is going to subsidized culture, but that their rooms are behind the net.

"In the Ziggo Dome our revenues are now 98 percent less. That is very hard. And I notice that it is not understood how our business works", says Danny Damman, director of the Ziggo Dome.

Birgitte de Winter, director of AFAS Live, points out that concert halls often have to program well in advance: "That is why our problems already extend to the autumn of 2021."

We can therefore forget the festival summer of 2021, according to the directors.

"Nobody dares to say it anymore, but you have to be realistic: you can probably write off next year's festival summer," said Duncan Stutterheim, director of Westergas and A'DAM Toren.

According to Damman, there is "arbitrariness" in the granting of aid.

"We are not 'top of mind' with the people who give subsidies, because we have been without it our entire existence.

On Monday, the event industry will draw attention to the financial need as a result of the corona measures under the motto 'The show must go on'.

The details on this will be announced on Monday.
