Dutch theaters, concert halls, music venues, event and sports organizers, museums and festivals will come together on Thursday with the website bewaarjeticket.nl. The cultural sector hopes to persuade the buyers of tickets for events postponed or canceled due to the corona crisis in order not to ask for a refund.
The sector promises to come to the website with "appropriate solutions" for ticket holders. The initiators are thinking of moving events or issuing vouchers, if this is not possible.
The promoters of the website hope under the motto 'Save your ticket, enjoy later' that ticket holders offer the cultural sector, including the people behind the scenes, the financial space to work on events in the future. Ticket buyers can also choose to request a refund in accordance with the Corona Crisis Ticket Fees Scheme.
The initiators receive support from the scheme, including from the Netherlands Authority for Consumers & Markets (ACM) and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. On 16 March, culture minister Van Engelshoven called on the holders of tickets for canceled events not to request a refund, because in her opinion the sector could not handle this.
