Igone de Jongh can be seen on 10 and 11 June in Carré in Amsterdam with her own dance gala. In collaboration with Carré, the ballet dancer puts together a program with national and international guests from the ballet and dance world.
In a press release De Jongh describes the project as "a dream come true". She says that the gala will be an evening in which she can take full control of her own hands. "With this gala I can show dance across the board, although the classical ballet that I love so much will certainly not be missing", says De Jongh.
De Jongh will be on stage during the gala with her old dance partner Marijn Rademaker, but also collaborate with Jan Kooijman, Wende Snijders and Chantal Janzen.
De Jongh danced her last performance at the National Ballet at the end of 2019. Immediately afterwards she received the Frans Banninck Cocqpenning for her merits as a dancer, from the hands of Amsterdam's mayor Femke Halsema.
