Mark-Paul Gosselaar returns definitively for the sequel to the nineties series Saved by the Bell . The actor makes this known during an event from channel ABC, reports the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Friday.
It was already known in September 2019 that the hit series would at least return with actors Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley. The return of teenage idol Gosselaar, now 45 years old, was still awaiting.
The character of Dutch-American Gosselaar, Zack Morris, is the governor of California in the new series. He is discredited because he closes too many low-income schools and tries to turn the tide by sending affected students to the best schools. This includes Bayside High, the high school where the original series from the nineties took place.
Saved by the Bell was broadcast from 1989 to 1993 and revolved around a group of high school students who were confronted with typical teenage problems. Two spin-off series followed earlier, in which Gosselaar could also be seen.
