TV actor Jan Fedder is dead. He died at the age of 64. This was announced by a spokeswoman for the Hamburg police. The actor was known to German TV audiences primarily from the Großstadtrevier series.
In 1981, Fedder celebrated his breakthrough as an actor in the movie Das Boot . In the internationally successful drama he played Pilgrim Wolgang Petersens. From 1992, the Hamburger took over the role of Dirk Matthies in the ARD evening series Großstadtrevier . He played the policeman for more than twenty years. The Hamburg police brought Fedder to the honorary commissioner.
The son of a pub owner who grew up in St. Pauli was considered a popular actor. He starred in more than 400 productions and made North German characters his trademark.
