The buyer who at an auction got the leather jacket that Olivia Newton-John wears in Grease has donated the garment to the actress.
The jacket from the 1978 film yielded almost 220,000 euros during an auction. "But it doesn't belong in the wardrobe of a billionaire, only so that the person in question can brag about it to his rich friends," said the buyer.
That is why the auction buyer brought the jacket back to the actress and donated the amount he spent during the auction to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center in Melbourne.
The leather jacket is part of a collection of more than five hundred objects that is auctioned for cancer research. 71-year-old Newton-John founded the center in 1992, when she first encountered breast cancer.
