In July 2020, entertainment company ID&T is organizing for the first time in three years another edition of Sensation at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. According to the organization, the Beyond Sensation event will be "the beginning of a new chapter".
"When we started the Sensation adventure in 2000, we had no idea it would be that big," said organizer Eric Keijer. "We stopped at our peak in 2017 because we thought it was time for something new. With Beyond Sensation we are going to take the first long-awaited step in that direction."
Sensation was conceived by ID&T founder Duncan Stutterheim and took place for the first time in 2000. The first edition of Sensation White was organized in 2001, with all visitors dressed in white. Then Sensation sold out Amsterdam every year, with over 40,000 visitors.
The event also became internationally successful, thanks to collaborations with DJs such as Armin van Buuren, Tiësto and Martin Garrix. Sensation parties took place on five different continents.
In 2017 the last Sensation took place in Amsterdam. The event was then closed by DJ Tiësto, who came to play as a mystery guest.
Beyond Sensation will take place on Saturday, July 4 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. Ticket sales start in February 2020.
