It looks like the new Batman movie will have an absolute star cast at its disposal. Deadline reports Tuesday that the Irish actor Colin Farrell is in conversation with Warner Bros about the interpretation of the role of the Penguin.

Tuesday it was also announced that Andy Serkis was approached to play the role of Alfred Pennyworth in the new film by Matt Reeves.

Earlier it was announced that Robert Pattinson took on the leading role of Bruce Wayne / Batman. Farrell and Serkis would now be added to the cast which further consists of Zoë Kravitz (Selina Kyle / Catwoman), Paul Dano (the Riddler) and Jeffrey Wright (commissioner James Gordon).

The Penguin was previously played by Danny DeVito in Batman Returns from 1992. Burgess Meredith played the character in the 1960 television series. More recently, the Penguin was played by Robin Lord Taylor as the young Oswald Cobblepot in the Gotham series.
