Disney announced on Tuesday that the release of the new Cruella de Vil film has been postponed to 2021. The film, in which Emma Stone takes on the role of Cruella de Vil, is expected to be released at the end of 2020.
Cruella de Vil is the villain from the book 101 Dalmatians from 1956. Five years later, Disney released the animation classic about dog parents Pongo and Perdita who have to save a horde of puppies before being entertained into fur coats. In 1996 a live action version of the film was released, in which Glenn Close played the role of Cruella.
The film is not the only one that has shifted considerably in the Disney agenda. The Woman In The Window , with Amy Adams in the lead, will also be released later. The film was supposed to premiere in October, but will only be released in the spring of 2020.
