Gordon Heuckeroth was discharged from a clinic in South Africa, where he was treated for a month for multiple addictions. The presenter says on Facebook that he expects it will be difficult.
"I'm going to have a very difficult time, but with the support of my best friends and family, I have to succeed. How much I learned here. But above all to love myself again, because I hadn't done that for years", Heuckeroth writes in the message.
In the extensive statement, the former singer also states that he will be wary "in a society where alcohol and drink are freely available and where many (without knowing it often) can no longer get out".
He has also become aware that he is not an ex-addict, but will be "in recovery" for the rest of his life. But the 51-year-old Heuckeroth also sees what can be offset: "(…) I just know that this life will become better and more fun than to sedate yourself for reality and loneliness. Maybe that love will finally come really on my path. "
"I'm not going to sit in talk shows"
According to him, the fact that he used a clinic that is located at a luxury resort does not detract from the sacrifice he had to make in South Africa: "It doesn't matter where you are, what you are from or how much or how little money you have; the struggle and process of overcoming your addiction is the same. "
Heuckeroth has no plans yet to post in programs to talk about his victory: "I'm not going to sit in talk shows to tell how wonderful I am after a month without. After a year I have a right to speak and then I hope the news to spread a life without influence instead of under influence. "
