The NPO is enthusiastic about the MECC, the location where the Song Festival will take place if Maastricht is chosen as the host city. "In terms of height, width and depth, the MECC room is reminiscent of that in Kiev and Tel Aviv," said Sietse Bakker, head of producer of Events, according to the AD .
"They really want to be here in Maastricht. We look at the suitability of the location in both cities, what the city itself contributes and which accommodations are available. Both Rotterdam and Maastricht meet these three points."
