The final draft of the law has recently been announced and there has been great criticism. For the first time, the EU is creating a European minimum standard for the rules for AI-based, automatic facial recognition. The law must balance a wide variety of interests, says the Green Party politician and former member of the European Parliament. It is never easy to bring very different interests into a good balance, she says.
