Scientists from LETI and St. Petersburg State University have found a new promising source of magnetic biocompatible nanoparticles that can be used in medicine.

Such particles are found in the shells of marine unicellular organisms - foraminifera. Experts suggest that nanoparticles of natural origin will have betterBiocompatibility than their synthesized counterparts. The results of the study were published in the proceedings of the Biogenic—Abiogenic Interactions in Natural and Anthropogenic Systems 2022 conference.
