Researchers find new pterosaur species “Ceoptera evansae’ in Scotland. The skeleton is said to consist of parts of the shoulder, wings, legs and spine.

Many of the bones are so firmly fused to the rock that they could only be examined with CT scans. The scientists were able to identify features that distinguished the specimen from other pterosaurs. It is the first of its kind to be found in Scotland and only the second flying reptile identified from this country.
