Official Apple warning: iPhone owners should not dry wet cell phones with rice. Apple is worried that using home remedies could harm its smartphones.
Now the company is once again explicitly warning against the rice coating. Apple also advises against other known tricks, such as using a heat source or cotton swabs that could be inserted into the openings of the phone. If there is still moisture in the device, a warning message appears on the display. Then only patience will help – or an (expensive) repair by a specialist.
