A man was shot dead near a deal point in Nîmes on Tuesday evening, while his 8-year-old son was in the vehicle targeted by the shooting. Three suspects were arrested on Wednesday in the 14th arrondissement of Marseille, in the north of the city, with a fourth individual still on the run.
Violence due to drug trafficking has been growing sharply in recent years in the Gard prefecture, where three people were shot dead in 2023 and eight in 2020.
