Japan launches new H3 carrier rocket. First attempt to launch failed last year.

H3 is intended to be a replacement for the ageing H2A rocket. It will be used to send cargo to the International Space Station in the 2030s. It is the first time Japan has launched a new carrier rocket in 30 years. The new rocket is expected to be ready for use by 2018. It has a range of more than 1,000 miles (1,600km) and can carry a payload of up to 2,000 kg.
