Disney+ wants to stop sharing passwords from summer. The company currently allows accounts to be shared, but in the future users outside of the same household will have to pay for their own subscription.

Disney is following the example of Netflix. The US streaming service has been cracking down on the sharing of passwords for months - and has been able to increase its number of subscribers. Netflix had also implemented its measures against password free riders in Germany since the beginning of last summer. Disney wants to bring its streaming business into the black by the end of September. In the last quarter it posted an operating loss of $216 million.
