Facebook's image generator Imagine with Meta AI will be able to recognize AI-generated images from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Adobe, Midjourney and Shutterstock in the future. Each image is marked with a clearly visible indication of its origin.
Watermarks should also be included in the images themselves, which are not visible to the human eye but can be clearly identified by a corresponding program. The advantage: Even if AI fakes are spread via screenshot, the invisible signature should remain. The industry is not yet ready to label artificially generated audio or videos, let alone reliably identify unlabeled recordings afterwards.
