Apple warns that it is not advisable to put a wet iPhone in rice to dry it. According to the American company, "doing so could allow small particles of rice to damage your iPhone" The new models of these phones, iPhone XS, XS Max, XR or later, warn you if your phone has excess water.
But not only do they notify you, the problem is that for security reasons they do not allow you to charge your device. Apple advises you to carry out this series of recommendations : Gently tap your iPhone against your hand with the connector facing down to remove excess liquid. Leave your iPhone in a dry place with some air flow.
