Amazon stops acquisition of Roomba manufacturer iRobot. The company announced on Monday that it saw no way to obtain EU approval for the billion-dollar deal.
Amazon already owns the assistance system “Alexa” and the home surveillance specialist “Ring”. iRobt's shares fell by almost 20 percent in pre-market US business and, at $13.76, were as cheap as they were last more than 14 years ago. The firm announced major restructuring measures that include laying off 31 percent of its workforce.
