Biologists studied the chemical composition of garden perennial Anemonopsis macrophylla. It turned out that the plant is rich in biologically active substances.

In its composition, it was possible to isolate 16 different coumarins - aromatic compounds that are used in perfumery and pharmaceuticals. According to the authors of the work, anemonopsis can be cultivated in Russia in industrial quantities for the needs of the pharmaceutical industry. The study was supported by a grant from the Russian Science Foundation and published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.
