Tove Alexandersson missed last year's World Trail Championships due to Achilles tendon problems. In her comeback, at the 13.2-kilometer mountain race in the Austrian Tyrol, she finished second behind American Grayson Murphy.

About 40 percent of the race was on asphalt and the rest on steep trails both uphill and downhill.Alexandersson, who was the highest ranked in the starting field, crossed the finish line 56 seconds behind Murphy and collapsed after the finish. She was left lying for a long time completely exhausted.
