UEFA: President Aleksander Čeferin will not stand for re. After a change in the statutes, Aleksandar Ceferin could have remained president of UEFA until 2031.
But the Slovenian is resigning and will step down in 2027. The general assembly had previously made the way for him to run again despite the term limits by changing the statutes. The German Football Association (DFB) supported the changes to the statutes and only three out of 55 national associations voted against voting en bloc.
