The swimming competition to select representatives for the Paris Olympics will begin on the 17th. On the first day of the tournament, in addition to the men's and women's 400m freestyle finals, the qualifying and semi-finals of the women's 100m butterfly will be held.
This year's competition is a "one-shot contest" in which participants who can beat the time set by the Japan Swimming Federation in the final and finish in the top two will be selected to represent the individual event.
