Avangard won a strong-willed victory over Lokomotiv and equalized the score in the quarterfinal series of the Gagarin Cup. Omsk lost with a score of 0:2, but turned the tide of the match in the second period thanks to goals from Igor Martynov, Semyon Chistyakov and Nikolai Prokhorkin.
