On the second day of the World Speed Skating Championships held in Canada, Shigeyuki Mori placed 4th in the men's 500 meters and won a medal. In the women's team pursuit, Miho Takagi, Ayano Sato, and 20-year-old Momoka Horikawa took 3rd place with a time of 2 minutes 54.89 seconds, winning the bronze medal.
