Daisuke Matsui, a former Japanese national soccer player who was active in the 2010 World Cup, announced his retirement on his SNS. Matsui is a midfielder who is known for his skillful dribbling and brilliant technique.
He moved from Kyoto Sanga in the J-League to Le Mans in France in 2004, and then played in Europe for a long time. In 2014, he returned to Japan and transferred to then-J2 side Jubilo Iwata, contributing to the team's return to J1.
