J1's F.Marinos defeated Thailand's Bangkok United in extra time to advance to the top eight for the first time in the ACL. J2's Ventforet K ofu lost to South Korea's Ulsan and did not advanced to the quarterfinals. The ACL final tournament will be played in a home-and-away format based on the total score of two games.
