The Suzanne Lenglen Cup is promised to the winner of Roland-Garros 2023. Named after the former French tennis player who revolutionized her sport.
The trophy has not always borne the name "Suzanne-Lenglen". It has only been in existence since 1979. The current cup is the replica of another cup, the one that had been offered by the city of Nice to Suzanne L Englen in tribute to her immense career. It was not until 1986 that the French Tennis Federation decided to make a replica, smaller than those of the original, for each winner of the tournament.
